Hello Inika! My name is Monika and I am an LMT and a Ceritfied Aquatic Massage Therapist from Tucson. I am moving to Sonoma County (just south of Santa Rosa) on Nov 1st and I am looking for a pool to rent in the area. Sulis suggested that I got in touch with you about it. In particular, she mentioned WABA website as a resource I might check. Please let me know if you might have any ideas for me. Thank you so much!
With my very best regards
Here's an interesting discussion in the Abuse/Trauma Group I've just joined on another network (more on the neck issue) - the organizer is putting together a list of people who work with this. Thought you might like to know and perhaps be on that list. Would be so good to have aquatic representation. S xxx
Hi Inika,
I've just been following this little thread, and I actually have become a provider for Aetna and Uniform, and can bill watsu as massage therapy! Aetna pays well, $115. Uniform not so well, so I make the clients pay an additional $30 for the pool rental fee.

More information on The Waters qualification appears on this page. It applies only to people practicing in Ontario, Canada and it does enable insurance coverage. It says it is based on Watsu and Jahara but significantly different in ways mentioned but not easily defined I think. Interesting to know about.

She has studied Watsu & Jahara, then adapted what she learned so that it could fit into the scope of practice for massage therapy. She is quite a pioneer, I am truely grateful for what she has done, and her approach. ( She opted not to trademake, instead giving it over to the higher good! ! ! )
I have worked with adults so far, not yet trying the craniosacral work in there.
Thanks for the reply! Looking forward to chatting more!

Hello!
Your profile looks great - we have similar modalities under our belt. Can you share with me how you built your clientele?
Great... Thanks so much Inika for this invitation. I just love Your work.........., You know!
I still remember the Manatee and try keep relaxing a bit more.
I have known of persons who sponsored and taught caregivers and those being given care to share Watsu(R)
It provides a sense of sharing and giving back for the caregiver to receive....
Other thought: to provide another opportunity nearby for the car…
This group is for discussions about the practice and promotion of aquatic bodywork in spas, other leisure settings, and private venues. A place to share some of the issues faced and support each other.
For pediatric aquatic therapists/instructors who work with children on the autism spectrum. We will be sharing our coolest treatment ideas and creating a mock protocol for the infant, toddler, and school aged child demonstrating autism traits.

I was just about to invite you to join Aquatic Bodyworkers Group and you beat me to it by a minute or two.
This week I'll be sending out an invite to more Watsu folk. Please feel free to invite others you think might be interested too.
I am working to help Andrea get some good dialog going and of course it all depends on participation.
I'm also very glad there is this opportunity for clinical and non-clinical practitioners to share. S
