Seems that Watsu has become a larger percentage of my practice recently. Though the economic downturn has reduced overall business by 30% to 60%, the ratio of land to water based work is shifting more toward a 50/50 split. In the projected business plan, at 5 years out, which is where I am at right now, these are the goals I have been aiming for. Owning a pool has it's advantages and disadvantages, overhead is always an issue as well as being a high end consumer of energy for which I have personal reservations about. Watsu sessions seem to pay for heating and upkeep and are rarely figured into the profit margin. I do have the advantage of having the pool available to do self PT and exercise in. I am still investigating ways to make the pool more efficient. My home owners insurance dropped me this week because I have a business in my house, which they already knew, have no idea how to find a new company, I went through 25 places to find that one.
I find I have more passion for Watsu when I stay connected to our Water family and find the spark of hope and wonder I first started this journey with. My recent trip to Harbin helped to remind me I am able to share this gift. I keep moving along available to those out there who are in need of what I have to offer, little miracles happen in the water and really lift my spirit on a regular basis. Jai Ma
