Noticed you live in NC. Always looking for people to network with. I am a LPTA and I live in High Point NC. I work at a nursing facility and have been an ATRIC for about a year now. I am loving using the water as part of my therapy. Just thought I would drop a line and say hello!
Hi again! Thanks for getting back to me so soon. I am not a Physical Therapist, though often wish I had pursued that dream. My MS is in Rehabilitation Services [vocational rehabilitation.] Now I'm a stay-at-home mom who teaches aqua exercise classes and passed the ACSM certified Personal Trainer exam in May. [Have provided aquatic personal training since 1998.] I was teaching aqua classes and providing aquatic personal training until I injured the right shoulder this past June. Tried to get it better w/ PT but had to have an anterior shoulder reconstruction in August @ Duke Sports Med. Just starting to do a little teaching again...not yet ready to do 1 on 1 aquatic personal training. My classes are at the Chapel Hill Community Center pool off of Estes Drive. Where do you practice?

I have known of persons who sponsored and taught caregivers and those being given care to share Watsu(R)
It provides a sense of sharing and giving back for the caregiver to receive....
Other thought: to provide another opportunity nearby for the car…
This group is for discussions about the practice and promotion of aquatic bodywork in spas, other leisure settings, and private venues. A place to share some of the issues faced and support each other.
For pediatric aquatic therapists/instructors who work with children on the autism spectrum. We will be sharing our coolest treatment ideas and creating a mock protocol for the infant, toddler, and school aged child demonstrating autism traits.
