How are you involved in aquatic therapy?
I have my own pool in Seattle - a beautiful outdoor pool custom built for Watsu - and I give sessions in the water in 'Fluid Integration' which is something I have developed myself and includes neuromuscular retraining and somatic learning.

Mine is a small pool - built in the ground, 12 or 13 feet in diameter. It's an outdoor pool and heated to about 97 degrees, a little less in summer

Being in the water

I gave a Fluid Integration session to a friend of mine who is a midwife and counselor to pregnant women and their partners. She has also taught pre-natal yoga for many years - but this doesn't begin to describe her strengths, passion, commitment and engagement with the world as she finds it. I practised as a lay midwife 20 years ago, I have 4 children (3 of whom were born at home), and I was appalled to hear from her that conditions for pregnant and laboring women have deteriorated considerably… Continue

What a beautiful pool space you have created! Is it difficult to keep warm in winter in Seattle? I notice you have a bubble pool cover cut to the round shape which would help. Heated with propane?

Aquamoves course will provide a review of hydrodynamics in dealing with the Spine and Extremities. This course will present protocols utilized to reach optimal outcomes for Aquatic Therapy dealing with multiple diagnoses. We will also cover evaluation, documentation for successful reimbursement and setting up a plan of care.
