Water seems so naturally conducive to dance. When I worked for a short while at the new millenium spa in Bath, UK, the pool I used was part of the old Victorian medical complex. It has high Bath stone walls and above it a glass roof. I soon discovered that if I was there after dark that I could float on my back and see kaleidoscope images of myself. Then I added movements to that and I was entranced. Would love to have been able to look up as I worked with others in the water too!

The underwater speaker is a Clark Synthesis AQ339 Aquasonic Underwater Speaker, you can learn more about it at www.lubell.com and it requires a special amplifier.

I'm glad to hear that you are still doing your beautiful work. I met you last February when I came to Kalani with Elisa and my son Elijah. I would like to go to Hawaii again when I can afford it. What kind of underwater speaker do you have, I am thinking about purchasing one.

I was intrigued and pleased to see it, because it seems very appropriate for Dolphin Dance, a modality I've been developing since 1996. It includes the Pod Experience, a combination of dance, partnering and contact improvisation with underwater music, that I've been leading weekly at Kalani's watsu pool as an open group activity.

It has been an amazing adventure, with hundreds of people from all over the world having Dolphin Danced with me, many saying it was a life-changing event and many group leaders every year requesting the Pod Experience for their group, because it is so cathartic. I also lead it for couples.

Since 1998 I've also created multi-media performances with aquatic contact and underwater partnering, in a life-long exploration as a dancer and a healer that has led me through 6 years of Medical School in Italy, 2500 hours of aquatic bodywork courses, study and practice of breathwork, energetic healing, massage, alternative psychology, as well as professional performing of Ballet, Modern Dance, Aerial Dance, Acrobatics and Dance, and my expansion into Dolphin Dance.

Actually, in 1998 Inika partnered with me in a water performance I conceived entitled To the Mother, with my poetry in English and Italian recorded on music, and silk scarves in the water as in your photo, Rosemary (my scarf actually was swallowed and chewed up by the pool filter...)

I transmit my exploration in four intensives, two of which focus on intuitive work: Dolphin Dance Creative Journey and Dolphin Dance Quantum Healing (that is coming up in Hawaii on Feb 22-26 and teaches a combination of Emotional Freedom Technique and unwinding above and under water).
The other two classes, Dolphin Dance Above and Dolphin Dance Below teach the moves of a Dolphin Dance session above and underwater, a combination of dance, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Cranial-Sacral and Reiki on the surface and under water with an individual passive receiver.

The journey continues, with many elements intertwining, including creating specific sessions to heal the discomfort in water joining Emotional Freedom Technique and subaquatic dance, in which near drowning or scary water experiences are processed and healed in usually one and a half hours.

Just as the photo of me FabriCaping has a mystic quality to it, so I feel any form of art in the water has. As a former art teacher I am now an Aquatic Recreation Therapist. My former career foreshadowed my current as is noted in the acronym. The two interest in my life melded together when I created the aquatic technique I call "Waterspice FabriCaping". It is what I view to be a form of kinetic art - free flowing and self-expressive. It is fun to be creative in the water. When we can separate ourselves from rigid routine exercises and experience the water, we become creative.

Thanks Sulis. Water and creativity are synonymous for me. Water is the creative solution and the matrix for life. Just look at how many endlessly creative snowflake designs water can make! No two alike.
