Event Description

Hi all,
I am excited to let you know that I am going to the Hamptons to teach Healing Dance. If you don't know Healing Dance or even if you do and want to get inspired check out these youtube videos that Alexander put together. It says it all.... well, most of it!

Advanced Healing Dance (By the way I will be teaching a semi-private class in Boston following this class. This will include Basic HD Integration and Integration and Demonstration of Mastery for a Healing Dance Practitioner Certificate. Let me know if you are interested. May 26-June 2)

I have been teaching Healing Dance for 9 years now and still loving it. Here are some quotes from students about Healing Dance and me. (toot toot :))
Did this Course meet your expectations?
Yes. The moves are so much more natural to me. Freeing my legs! Being allowed to use steps to create pull and traction. M.B.

Expectations were far surpassed! I thought we’d be learning techniques for aquatic bodywork and I was instead shown a fabulous path to self-realization….. C. S.

I expected to learn flowing motion—and I did! I feel this is where Watsu was meant to morph to—wriggling the tension out, the stuck emotions, energy. D.M.

Yes. The ability to move larger bodies in the water. C.A.

The one thing I didn’t expect is how much I would love it! J.W-F

Went way beyond my expectations. –Amount of material covered. --Genius of the work. B.S.

….about the class: “Your class was structured like the spirit and principles of Watsu in the ease of learning and teaching.” A.L. “You created balance and flow …like one long perfect Healing Dance.” T.W.

…..about Inika: “Fantastic teacher, the best I’ve had for balance, support, understanding, flexibility, experience, knowledge, and facilitation skills. “ L.C.

Very Patient. What a clarity, grace and excellence….

This is just INIKA like champagne: elegant, sparkling and a lot of zizzle. G.E.

Inika’s ability to hold space continues to dazzle, inspire.

Amazing how you can be so attentive to each person, present and still move the class along so we learn everything.

Healing Dance evokes the essence of water: fluidity and movement. It is a complementary technique to Watsu and Waterdance: powerful in its own right, combining the freedom, scope and three-dimensionality of Waterdance with the closeness and nurturing of Watsu. Although the entire session takes place above the surface of the water, Healing Dance elicits many of the same responses experienced in a Waterdance session. The giver enjoys the pleasure of her or his own dance, bringing the grace of movement to the receiver. The form follows the natural tendencies of the body moving in water through waves and spirals, with the legs free to experience the sensation of the water flowing past. Some moves combine the contrast of closeness and release while others offer creative stretches. Students learn to move in partnership with the receiver as if they were water itself. Healing Dance was developed by Alexander Georgeakopoulous, a former ballet dancer and teacher who began studying and teaching Watsu in 1990. Since then he has created, expanded and refined the Healing Dance, which continues to grow and evolve. Prerequisites: Watsu 1 and Intro to Healing Dance Weekend

I have known of persons who sponsored and taught caregivers and those being given care to share Watsu(R) It provides a sense of sharing and giving back for the caregiver to receive.... Other thought: to provide another opportunity nearby for the car…
